Ostara
April brought the group to West Virginia and Hagerstown to celebrate Ostara. We created many eggs as well as baskets for this celebration. Ostara is a pre-Christian holy day celebration the beginnings of Life and the celebratio of the Goddess Eostar. The symbolism will be recognized in the forms of spirng flowers, eggs, rabbits and more. We first created eggs for blessings out of natural dyes made from beets, onions, grape juice and other natural materials. We also created baskets to hold our eggs in. The following weekend we trekked over to West Virginia for a beautiful ritual working with Runes and a true Ostara egg hunt for the children. Here is the gallery of images from our egg dying day and our celebration.
Blessings.
