March - Ostara
March 20th, 2010 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm - Unitarian Universalist Church of Hagerstown - Please join Hijo and Embers in an Ostara Celebration! Spring comes when the earth, coaxed by lengthening days and warmer temperatures, begins to awaken from her winter slumber. She stretches open to receive the rain that gives drink to flower buds and seedlings. She takes a deep breath, and on her exhale the leaves on trees unfurl like tiny flags heralding her revival as baby animals tumble forth, trumpeting the good news to all who will listen. Rebirth and repopulation fill the void of winter with flurry and fury as what appeared to be gone forever comes into being once again. Even though it happens this way every year, we stand in awe, our insides trembling sweetly like the legs of a new foal as we too are reborn. What to bring... 1-your shining Springy Self! 2-some seeds to add to our cauldron pot (as we will be putting seeds in the ground at our fruition spot as well as other places that need healing and energy) 3-whatever you would like to add 4-a can good for the donation basket. and a potluck item to share.
We hit our GOAL and are surpassing it to 2000lbs! QOHC and UUCH Faith In Action Committee have come together to Strike Out Hunger One Pound at a Time! Please see our Celebration Calendar for more details about this food drive!

Community Monthly Drum Circle hosted by
Guardians of the Circle
Every 4th Friday of the month!
7:00 - 8:30pm
Our next Drum Circle is March 26th and we're hoping to start Spring with a bonfire!
We gather together to create rhythms and music through the evening and will meet every 4th Friday of the month. Whether a beginner or advanced drummer you will be gently guided by our hosts Hijo and Mike as we learn about basic drumming, drum circle ettiquette, rhythm techniques and more. Our intent is to create an open space for those who would like to learn more about drumming so a positive intent is the only thing required. Bring your drum, rattles, bells, bowls and other music makers as we create a diverse mix of beautiful sounds. Dancers and those who enjoy sharing songs and chants are welcome to join in. All ages are welcome!
Bring a chair or blanket for our outdoor circle!
